A night with Parkdale Primary School Dads

2nd March 2019. Reading Time: 1 minute 1990 page views.

Dave joined the Parkdale Primary School Dads for a screening of Call Me Dad

Great night at the new Gerry Green Pavillion for the first event of 2019 for Parkdale Primary School Dads. Dave Nugent from Heavy M.E.T.A.L group joined the group for a screening of the ABC documentary 'Call Me Dad'.

Dave walked the group through the origins of the organisation and his own personal story which inspired some great discussion and some thought provoking from the Dads in attendance.

A big thankyou to the Parkdale Cricket Club for the use of their facility, the raffle prize and food donators (Same from Bocconcino's, Matt and Andrea from Boatrocker and Wilson from Rolls on Como who are all parents of children at Parkdale Primary School), and to everyone who attended. Over $600 dollars was raised for the charity which is a fantastic outcome.

Who are Parkdale Primary School Dads?

Parkdale Primary School Dads are a group of like minded dads who want to create a space we we can Educate, Entertain and Encourage each other to become the best dads we can be. We focus on resilience, and using empathy, mindfulness and gratitude regularly. All of this is intended to improve the quality of your life, and your families' too. Our starting point is Parkdale Primary, but our reach can and will eventually be broader too. We hope that by creating this group we can all help build a stronger community, simply through having a bit of fun, making new connections and helping yourselves, your mates, your partner and your kids deal with or prepare for potential difficulties in life. We invite you to join up and spread the word. All we hope is for the time and effort you are comfortable giving.
